Undredal Camping in Undredal in the Vestland region (Sogn og Fjordane)
Undredal Camping is a small cozy campsite in the middle of the village of Undredal. The 27 camping pitches fill up quickly in high season (July), so the 80 inhabitants of Undredal would be happy to welcome you in the early or late season. Then they also have plenty of time for you and they are happy to tell you more about the history of the nice stave church of Undredal (from the year 1147) and about the making of goat cheese. If you prefer to go out: the area is ideal for wonderful walks. Or would you rather dream away on the quay by the fjord. It\\'s all possible in Undredal.
At Undredal Camping
Undredal Camping is located in the center of Undredal and has only 27 camping pitches (15 for tents and 12 for campers/caravans). Two apartments are rented out on the campsite, the other accommodations are located in and around Undredal and, just like the campsite, are rented by Visit Undredal. The sanitary building is located on the campsite, the restaurant, café, a souvenir shop and a small supermarket are within walking distance. If you need to do laundry, report this to reception and the laundry will be done for you for NOK 50.
Undredal Stave Church and Goat Cheese
While strolling through the village, be sure to visit the old Undredal Stave Church, the smallest church in Northern Europe. Undredal is also best known for its goat cheese. Not surprising, of course, because the village has no fewer than 400 goats. At a number of places in the village you can taste (and buy) the “brown” goat cheese and see how this traditional cheese is made and matured. Very nice!
Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord
Undredal Camping is located directly on the Aurlandsfjord. Just like the adjacent Naeroyfjord, it is a branch of the imposing Sognefjord. You can take the ferry from the quay of Undredal to Gudvangen (for example to visit Viking Valley) or to Flam (for example to go to the world famous Flamsbana), but it is even better to rent a canoe and enjoy the peace and quietness on the fjord. Soooo fine!
