Small campsite in a very impressive setting of impressive mountains and mega waterfalls directly along the E16 between Bergen and Fagernes. Near Naeroyfjord.
Vang Camping in Gudvangen in the Vestland (Sogn og Fjordane) region
Vang Camping is located in a very impressive location along the E16, within walking distance of the village of Gudvangen where you will find a supermarket and a gas station. The Naeroyfjord and Viking Valley can also be reached on foot from the campsite. At Vang Camping itself you will find both paved and grassy pitches for caravans, campers and tents. In addition, the campsite has various types of cabins. Sleeping in a special place? At Vang Camping you can hang your hammock on a small island in the river among a number of trees. Really fun !
Personal attention
The Larsen Family has been running their cozy campsite since 1965. Passed from father to son. And then from son to daughter because now daughter Siri runs the campsite. Because Vang Camping is a family business, there is a lot of attention for the guests, the sanitary facilities and the maintenance of the campsite.
At Vang Camping
Vang Camping is a small campsite located on a river with renewed sanitary facilities. There is free WIFI, kayaks and bicycles for rent, there is a grill place, a small playground and in the immediate vicinity of the campsite you can enjoy fishing, cycling and hiking.
Naeroyfjord and Viking Valley
The Naeroyfjord (where you can also make beautiful canoe trips) is on the World Heritage List of UNESCO and that is not surprising. The name says it all, the Naeroyfjord is narrow and 1 of the most beautiful fjords in Norway. Both the Naeroyfjord and the Viking Valley can be reached on foot from Vang Camping. Viking Valley is a beautiful viking village - called Njardarheimr - and is open all year round.
Central location on the E16 between Bergen and Fagernes
Vang Camping is located directly along the E16 between Bergen (147km.) and Fagernes (183km.) Close to various attractions such as the Naeroyfjord and Viking Valley in Gudvangen, the "goat village" Undredal (when you visit you should definitely buy a "brown" piece of goat cheese ), the world famous Flamsbana in Flam and the Stegastein viewpoint, which rises high above the Aurlandsfjord. Tip: at Aurland take the Aurlandsvegen (the “snow road”) towards Laerdal, stop at Stegastein, visit the old center of Laerdal and take the 24.5km. long Laerdal tunnel back to Vang Camping. Magnificent!
