At Flam Camping

After checking in at the reception of Flam Camping you will be guided to a place on 1 of the many terraces on the campsite. Ideal, because the campsite is a decent size and finding a spot yourself is therefore not easy. Tip: visit the campsite in the off season or else make sure you arrive on time. Flam Camping og Vandrarheim has well-maintained sanitary facilities, a covered terrace (where you can have breakfast in the morning for example), free WIFI, a playground and bicycles can be rented. Various restaurants and a supermarket are within walking distance of the campsite.

Personal attention

Flam Camping og Vandrarheim has been run by the Haland Family since a long time. And you can see that. Great care is taken to keep the sanitary clean and to maintain and upgrade the campsite. No matter how busy it is, you will always be friendly welcomed at the reception and the staff will gladly help you with information.

Flamsbana

Flam Camping is within walking distance of the Flamsbana. On this world-famous train route you can bridge no less than 866 meters in about an hour, making it the steepest (normal) train route in the world. From the train you have a spectacular view of the fjord and the surrounding area. Along the way the train also stops at the Kjosfossen waterfall.

Location Flam and public transport

Flam is located along the E16 with a beautiful central location between Fagernes and Bergen. Easily accessible with your own transport, but also with public transport Flam Camping is easily accessible. The train from Oslo to Bergen stops in Myrdal and from there you can "take the Flamsbana down to the fjord". By bus is an another option, but you can also take the Express Boat from Flam to Bergen. Through the Sognefjord. Highly recommended!
