Byrkjelo Camping is within walking distance of the center of Byrkjelo, where you will find a gas station, bakery and supermarket. The view from the campsite is very beautiful and the immediate surroundings are very suitable for beautiful walks and/or bike rides. Due to its central location in the Vestland region (formerly Sogn og Fjordane) and the fact that the campsite is located on the E39, the campsite is very interesting for a longer stay. For example, to make trips to the west coast or to the Jostedalsbreen (glacier).

Surroundings Byrkjelo

The surroundings of Byrkjelo Camping are very beautiful. From the campsite you often have a view of the snow-capped mountain peaks (including the Eggenibba – mountain 1.330 meters high) and the beautiful nature around Byrkjelo. It is therefore no surprise that Byrkjelo Camping is very popular with hikers and cyclists. Tip: the village of Sandane (15 min. drive) – located on the Nordfjord – is well worth a visit. There you will also find the Trivselsskogen hiking area, with the beautiful Fosseteateret viewpoint where you have great views of the Nordfjord and the Holvik waterfall.

At Byrkjelo Camping

Byrkjelo Camping has a beautiful outdoor pool with a paddling pool and sun loungers. The camping guests have access with a 50% discount. At the campsite you will also find a nice playground, a table tennis table, a beach volleyball court, a multi-sports field, barbecue hut, campfire place and good sanitary facilities. The camping pitches are partly on gravel, partly on grass. For tents there is a special (grass) area along the river Storelva. A number of cabins are also rented out in winter. Central location in the fjord region of Norway

The Nordfjord is close to Byrkjelo Camping, but due to its central location between the Sognefjord and the Geirangerfjord, Byrkjelo Camping is also ideal for a longer stay to discover the beautiful fjord area of Norway. But the beautiful rugged west coast of Norway is also within easy reach and is well worth a visit. Tip: Cross the Nordfjord at Sandane, take the Panoramic Road along the Nordfjord, then head towards Hellesylt, take the ferry there through the Geirangerfjord and then drive from Geiranger via Stryn, Loen and Olden back to Byrkjelo. A truly beautiful route!
