Smegarden Camping is a nice family campsite at only 8km. from the center of Oppdal where you will find several shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The campsite is located directly on the river Vinstra which flows into the river Driva. You can fish well in both rivers. The surroundings of Smegarden Camping Oppdal are very impressive. Beautiful valleys are interspersed with high mountains where even in the summer there is snow. The campsite is located directly along the E6, but despite that you are almost not bothered by the traffic noise.

The terrain of Smegarden Camping Oppdal is sloping and there is always a nice place to find your tent, caravan or camper. Characteristic is the spacious layout of the campsite. The cabins are also widely spread around the campsite. The sanitary facilities of the campsite are well maintained, there is a nice playground, a playing field, there is free WiFi, a TV room and a kiosk / reception where they will gladly tell you more about the possibilities in the Oppdal area.

Personal attention

Smegarden Camping is a real family campsite and has been run by the Loe family since 1969. The campsite has been passed on from father to son, the current owner grew up with camping life. And that is evident in the enthusiasm, friendliness and hospitality with which the campsite is run.

Oppdal and Musk ox safari Dovrefjell

The surroundings of Oppdal are very impressive. Both in summer and in winter. Oppdal is known as a winter sports resort and you will find several cross-country trails in addition to ski slopes. Smegarden Camping is open all year round, so you can also visit the campsite in winter. In the summer you can take beautiful walks in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. But you can also participate in a Musk ox safari in the Dovrefjell National Park, very impressive!

Smegarden Camping lies about 125km. south of Trondheim. From Oslo it is 375km. to drive. The campsite is therefore an ideal place to stay if you are on your way to Trondheim, the Lofoten or the North Cape.
