Grindafjord Feriesenter in Aksdal in the Rogaland region
From June 2019, Grindafjord Feriesenter has new owners, who blow a fresh breeze through and around the campsite with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. The campsite has many seasonal places, but that has the advantage that there are many facilities. Your children in particular will have a great time here. The camping pitches are close to the swimming pond (with slide) and the playground, but a number of camping pitches are located directly below on the fjord. Very nice ! In addition to the camping pitches, the campsite has a number of nice cabins.
On Grindafjord Feriesenter
The campsite has many facilities. For children there is a nice swimming pond with slide, but the campsite also has a number of beaches and canoes can be used free of charge. Lovely to go into the fjord and enjoy this beautiful place from the water. Furthermore, the campsite has several playgrounds, a trampoline, mini golf, a tennis court and if you are down at the fjord with your camper, caravan or tent you can throw out your fishing rod to catch a fish. At the reception of Grindafjord Feriesenter is a bar, cafeteria and a camping shop. Various activities are organized in high season.
Haugesund
Haugesund is a town with around 38.000 inhabitants and is situated on the west coast at about 15 km. distance from Grindafjord Feriesenter. The town has a nice center with a shopping street and a pleasant harbor with various terraces. The environment of Haugesund is very beautiful. Just outside the town is the Haraldshaugen National Monument, which is certainly worth a visit.
Central location near the E134 between Stavanger and Odda / Roldal
If you want to go from Stavanger to the fjords (Hardanger, Geiranger or Sognefjord) and have already seen the Prekestolen, you can drive - definitely recommended if you are traveling with a caravan (because the alternative of the "13" is quite narrow) - also via Stavanger and Aksdal via the E134 direction Odda and Roldal. Central to this route is Grindafjord Feriesenter. A nice stop for a short or longer stay.
