Furoy Camping in Halsa in the Nordland region
Furoy Camping is a well-maintained campsite and for many, the last stop on the Kystriksveien before reaching Bodo. The campsite has both grass and gravel pitches (with grass under the awning). The camping pitches are spacious so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful view. Furoy Camping is located directly on the fjord and also close to the Svartisen glacier. Furthermore, the campsite has different types of cabins.
At Furoy Camping
At the campsite you will find a nice playground with trampoline, well-maintained sanitary facilities, free WIFI, a nice barbecue house and a covered area with picnic tables. This covered area is located near the fjord and offers a beautiful view. Furoy Camping also has a nice beach (if the water is not too high) and there are excellent fishing opportunities. Boats can be rented at the campsite.
Svartisen
The Svartisen glacier is with 369km2. Norway\'s largest glacier after the Jostedalsbreen and located in the beautiful Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park. The glacier can be reached by boat from the Kystriksveien. Departure point is a 15 minute drive from the campsite. Although the glacier has shrunk considerably in recent years, it is still worth visiting the Svartisen. Even if only because of the beautiful surroundings. By the way, did you know that 10% of the total surface of Norway consists of glaciers.
The Kystriksveien, one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the world
Furoy Camping is located near the harbor of Halsa, where you arrive by ferry from Agskardet. This is the last of the 6 crossings on the 650km. long trip on the Kystriksveien. With panoramic views, idyllic villages, beautiful beaches, stunning bays and great nature, the Kystriksveien is one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the world.
On the way to Lofoten and Vesteralen
For many campers who drive the Kystriksveien from south to north, Furoy Camping is the second to last campsite before taking the ferry at Bodo. And then sail to the Lofoten and Vesteralen. In Andenes on Vesteralen you can then travel further north towards Tromso and the North Cape or head south again on the E6 towards Trondheim.
