Vegset Campsite in Snasa in the Nord-Trondelag region
Vegset Camping is a very well maintained campsite with fairly new sanitary facilities in a nice location on the north side of the enormous Snasavatnet (6th largest lake in Norway). Due to its location on the lake, there are excellent swimming and fishing opportunities. The (pebble) beach at Vegset Camping slopes gently, so it is also suitable for children. There is a nice kiosk at the campsite where you can score fresh bread rolls in the morning. From the cozy terrace you have a wonderful view over the lake.
At Vegset Camping
The camping pitches at Vegset Camping are partly on gravel, partly on grass. In addition, there are a number of cabins for rent. The campsite has excellent sanitary facilities, there is mini golf, a barbecue area, a nice playground, there is free WIFI and the beautiful view of the Snasavatnett you get for free.
Location on Snasavatnet
Due to its location directly on the Snasavatnet (lake) there are good fishing opportunities at Vegset Camping. In addition, the campsite has a pebble beach and you can not only swim in the lake, the Snasavatnet also offers good water sports options. And then of course chilling out on the terrace of the kiosk afterwards.
Surroundings Vegset Camping
In the immediate vicinity you will find excellent cycling and walking opportunities. For example, a bike ride to the beautiful Lurudalen (approx. 30 km.) is recommended. And on just 4km. from the campsite you will find Saemien Sijte Museum (South Sami Museum): well worth a visit.
Stop for route over kystriksveien to Lofoten, Vesteralen and the North Cape
Officially the Kystriksveien starts in Steinkjer and you drive north via Namsos. But you can also continue to follow the E6 and pick up the Kystriksveien between Grong and Harran. And then take the ferry at Bodo to visit the beautiful Lofoten archipelago. Don't forget to drive on to Vesteralen and you may even have time to drive all the way to the North Cape. Wherever you go, Vegset Camping is located directly along the E6 and is therefore a great overnight stay for your onward journey through Norway.
