Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegard is beautifully situated in the Isterdalen valley at the foot of the Trollstigen and 10km. away from the small town Andalsnes. There is a train station in Andalsnes and you can get off at the campsite via the Andalsnes - Geiranger bus connection. Super handy. If you come with your own transport, you can always find a nice spot at Trollstigen Camping. You can even spend the night in a hammock by the river! There are also several beautiful cabins, holiday homes and apartments for rent. And the view? Well ... come and see for yourself.

At Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegard

The owner of Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegard wants to make campers feel as good as possible. Partly for this reason, a beautiful new sanitary building was realized in 2019 and the other facilities have also been improved. There is a nice playground, a grill area, there is free WIFI and next to the campsite there is a Tax Free Shop AND a nice restaurant where you can also order breakfast in high season.

Walking, cycling, canoeing and Stand Up Paddling

The immediate surroundings of Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegard are indescribably beautiful. You can fish, take beautiful walks, cycle to Andalsnes to see if a cruise ship has just arrived or if you are more sporty: take the Trollstigen by bike! By the way, electric bicycles can be rented at the campsite. Also very nice: on the nearby river Istra you can - under supervision - make beautiful canoe trips or Stand Up Paddling trips.

Trollstigen

This spectacular mountain road - 1 of the 5 most spectacular mountain roads in Europe - runs from Valldal to Andalsnes (south-north), is a total of 20km. long and has 11 hairpin bends. Along the way you will pass several waterfalls and the view is as beautiful as ever. Make sure you stop at the Trollstigheim viewpoint, because the view there is incredibly beautiful. In the adjacent Trollstigen Kafé you can enjoy a drink and a snack on the terrace.

The campsite closest to the Trollstigen

You will find various campsites on the south side of the Trollstigen in Valldal. There are also a large number of campsites in the immediate vicinity of Andalsnes - on the north side of the Trollstigen - but Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegard is closest to the Trollstigen. Ideal if, for example, you want to go on the Trollstigen by bike. You can leave the motorhome, caravan or tent on the campsite.
