Oya Okocamp Skjak is a spacious campsite, beautifully situated on a peninsula along the Otta river. Don\'t expect luxury here, but space, peace and cosiness. Whether you are camping with a camper, caravan or tent, there is always a nice spot to be found at Oya Okocamp Skjak. And if you want to spend the night in your hammock, you can choose 2 trees yourself. The campsite is very popular with campers who are travelling between Lom and Geiranger or Stryn and who try to avoid the crowds.
At Oya Okocamp Skjak
The camping pitches are situated on grass, but along the river the ground is partly made of stones. There are a number of cabins for rent at the campsite. If you have caught a fish in the river, you can use a number of barbecue/grill areas at the campsite. The sanitary facilities at Oya Okocamp Skjak are not luxurious either, but are well maintained. The children can have fun jumping on a trampoline and there are bicycles to borrow.
Camping and activities in nature
Oya Okocamp Skjak is situated in a natural environment. The campsite is very spacious. You will always find a nice spot, without being bothered by the neighbours. The area is ideal for taking beautiful hikes. The river Otta is very popular with kayakers and people who want to go rafting.
Breheimen and Jotunheimen National Parks
You can go hiking in the immediate vicinity of Oya Okocamp Skjak, but with the Breheimen and Jotunheimen National Parks as neighbours, a longer stay at the campsite is recommended. Because that is where hikers can indulge themselves. A trip over the Sognefjellet (the “55”), the highest road in Northern Europe that can be accessed by car, is also recommended.
On the route Lom - Geiranger / Stryn
Oya Okocamp Skjak is located about 14km. from Lom and 4km. from Bismo, where you will find a few shops and supermarkets. If you do not want to spend the night in the crowds at campsites in Lom and/or Geiranger, use Oya Okocamp Skjak as a “home base” and make beautiful day trips to, for example, the stave church of Lom, the Geirangerfjord or the summer ski area of Stryn.
