Geilo Hytter og Camping is a modern, well-maintained campsite near the centre of Geilo. The campsite has both paved camping pitches for campers and caravans and grass pitches for tents. Geilo Hytter og Camping is located in a beautiful area that is very popular with hikers in the summer and with winter sports enthusiasts in the winter.
Hiking, cycling, mountain biking and rafting in the area around Geilo
In the immediate vicinity of Geilo Hytter og Camping there are 2 National Parks: Hallingskarvet & Hardangervidda. The nature in both parks is overwhelming and therefore they are very popular with both nature lovers and hikers. If you prefer to go out by bike, Geilo also offers various options. Since 2021 you can find here: Flow Motion. A "flying route" of 4km. long with spectacular bends and jumps. Geilo is also a good starting point for the Rallarvegen, the most beautiful cycling route in Norway. Do you prefer to go on the water? In and around Geilo you will find various companies that specialize in rafting and canyoning. So plenty to choose from.
Excellent winter sports options
Geilo is, besides Trysil, Tynset, Hafjell and Voss, one of the largest and most popular winter sports resorts in Norway. Not surprising of course. You will find almost 227km. of cross-country ski trails and you can already put on your skis at the campsite. In addition, the Geilo winter sports area has no fewer than 40 ski slopes and 20 lifts and the area is very popular with both alpine skiers and snowboarders. You can leave your own car or camping equipment at Geilo Hytter og Camping because the ski bus leaves directly from the campsite.

A large number of campers arrive at Geilo Hytter og Camping, because of its location on the popular route over “the 7” which runs from Oslo to Bergen over the Hardangervidda.
